KTM Prospect to Develop Kerala Tourism

The eighth edition of the Kerala Travel Mart is looking forward to initiate with their prospect to develop
Kerala as appropriate and ideal destination for weddings and Honeymoon as well as for conferences and exhibition.

According to the sources the discussion of KTM which is supposed to be held in September would look to cover all the above mentioned plans and programmes.

Abraham George, president, KTM said, our plan is to reach out new markets like USA, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, Poland and other overseas developed countries. The Mart would look to specialise innovative tourism which includes village life experience and culture tours.

KTM that comes into picture every after two year are looking forward to curtain up this year show within the periphery of Samudrika Convention Centre which is located at the serene ambience of Willingdon Island. 

MICE tourism operators, global wedding planners, wellness and adventure tour operators are looking forward for the programme which is expected to be held in 2014. An inspiring response of the previous session have really motivated the Mart to come out with something different and following the lead of expectation this year KTM have raised their bar by outlining the plan which would make Kerala an ideal destination to cope with weddings and honeymoons along with conferences and exhibitions.

At the conference of mart we would have wedding themes which would complement the segments and having being viewed the concept very seriously KTM are looking forward to enhance their share 5000 crores, said by George.

Kerala government in order to promote MICE tourism have announced to be more flexible in terms of luxury tax on convention centres and auditoriums with a daily rent which would exceed from INR 20,000 to 10% from 20% in the state budget.

Powered by Kerala’s tourism department, the KTM which is an initiative of Kerala Travel mart society is looking forward to bring business entrepreneurs under the single roof. From the very moment of its induction it has been receiving global recognition and attention which in turn have allowed KTM products to go stable said George.

Since the day of its inception which started as a noble approach during 2000-2001 KTM has attracted more than 1000 international buyers and they have established firm relationship with their global partners with due respect to promote tourism sector.
